My San Francisco Highlander is here!

A love three hundred years in the making, but fortunately, it didn’t take that long to write. Although, some days it felt like I’d been at it for a decade. Today it’s available everywhere and I can’t wait for you to read it.

A love three hundred years in the making ~

After being knocked out in battle, Angus Brian Cameron wakes in a terrifying new world with flying beasts, horseless carriages, crazy music, and strangely dressed people. Has he gone mad? When Gillian Angel Adair discovers a man in 1975’s San Francisco Lands End park dressed in little more than a Scottish kilt, is he just a confused drifter or her dream-lover come to life?

A behind the scenes look at my adventures writing this book. All writing requires a mysterious mix of introspection, inspiration, and exploration. The exploration portion is a combination of research: on line, at the library, and best of all, though not as frequent as I’d like, location visits. Fortunately, as a Southern Californian with friends in San Francisco, trips to the “City by the Bay” are always fun-filled adventures and welcoming events.

My husband and I have made a couple of trips in the past two years, to cement the images and locales around the city that I wanted to feature in My San Francisco Highlander. However, the book is about the love story, so I kept it focused on my lovers and decorated their days with runs at Lands End, where Angus Brian Cameron wakes on a foggy morning.

Other adventures include travels to National Parks within a day’s drive from the city. This is, after all, the story of a misplaced Highlander from 1675 suddenly waking to the cacophony of 1975 San Francisco. Despite the draw of Golden Gate Park, he struggles daily with the congestion and noise of this bustling city. And his first disco experience leaves him baffled.

Imagine coming from a time when there were no airplanes, no cars, or buses. Every day he’d face an onslaught of agitating disturbance. Is it any wonder he needs escape to wilderness areas? When he’s informed he’s likely a time-traveler he runs, dodging cars and screaming people, and all manner of unimaginable curiosities assaulting his senses. A ridge of thickly clustered trees in the distance draws him to the only thing he finds familiar, a wooded area.

A love three hundred years in the making, but fortunately, it didn’t take that long to write. Although, some days it felt like I’d been at it for a decade. Today it’s available everywhere and I can’t wait for you to read it.
